Practice Areas
Mehlman, Greenblatt & Hare, LLC was commenced in January, 1995. The firm now consists of two attorneys who concentrate on debtor/creditor issues. The areas of practice include representation of both debtors and creditors in bankruptcy proceedings under Chapters 7, 11 and 13, restructuring of debt through out-of-court workouts, and state court insolvency proceedings.
Gary R. Greenblatt has been practicing in these areas since 1978, and was voted "Baltimore's Best Bankruptcy Attorney" by Baltimore Magazine in 1995. In December, 1999, Gary made the Top 10 List of Baltimore's "Favorite Business Lawyers" by The Daily Record, the daily journal of the Baltimore legal and business community.
Gary is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and American Bar Association. He is a member and former director of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of Maryland, and has acted as the Baltimore Chairperson. He is active on the Maryland Local Bankruptcy Rules Committee, working closely with the bankruptcy judges, U.S. Trustee and other bankruptcy attorneys to ensure that the local rules comply with the federal bankruptcy laws and to promote the efficient administration of bankruptcy cases.
Constance M. Hare has been practicing since 1995. Prior to becoming an attorney, she worked first as a legal secretary and as a bankruptcy paralegal for Gary Greenblatt.
Connie is also a member of the Maryland State and American Bar Associations, and a member of the Bankruptcy Bar Association of Maryland. She has lectured on various bankruptcy issues to both lawyer and paralegal groups. She has also appeared on a panel of bankruptcy practitioners to assist non-bankruptcy practitioners in providing pro bono services through the Pro Bono Action Center and Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service.
In fact, through Connie's efforts in working with pro bono clients, Mehlman, Greenblatt & Hare, LLC was awarded Law Firm of the Year in 1998 by the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service.
The clients of this firm come from a variety of sources, including referrals from small law firms and solo practitioners who do not regularly practice in debtor/creditor matters, major Baltimore law firms, accounting firms and former clients. Representative clients include small to medium sized businesses, banks and individuals.
Should you find yourself in need of representation in any of these areas, both Gary and Connie are willing to meet with you to discuss your individual legal concerns and provide you with the legal options available to you. In most instances, you will not be charged for your initial consultation.
